Whether you have been encouraged by others or inspired by viewing our national, Olympic & world championship competitors, our Learn to Curl program is an excellent introductory opportunity to curling. It looks like fun and it is!
Learn to Curl is an adult, on and off ice program over six 90-minute sessions. Our qualified staff instruct the basics of curling, including:
- Curling etiquette,
- Equipment needs,
- Safety on the ice,
- Delivering the stone,
- Understanding turns and curl,
- Use of curling delivery aids,
- Sweeping,
- Strategy of the game, and
- Short practice games.
Equipment is provided, you need only to bring a clean pair of rubber soled shoes and loose-fitting clothing suitable in a 5-degree environment.
Learn to Curl is run twice per season:
- Fall Learn to Curl: starts in late October. Dates and times are finalized near season opening but the weekly sessions usually include Thursday’s at 1:00 pm, Friday at 7:00 pm or Sunday at 4:00pm.
- Winter Learn to Curl: starts in January. Dates and times are finalized near season opening.
Upon completion of the program, those interested in continuing to curl, will be assisted by the program convener into:
